What is an Allergy?
When an individual's immune system responds to substances in the environment that are typically harmless to the majority of people.
Typically, the immune system is responsible for combating germs as the body’s defense mechanism. Nevertheless, in the case of allergies or allergic reactions, it often reacts to a perceived threat that is not actually present. Both genetic factors and the environment likely contribute to this response. Those with allergies are usually sensitive to multiple triggers such as pollen, dust mites, mold spores, pet dander, food, insect stings, and even medications.
