FAQs

Can my child have a sleep study at the McDonough Sleep Center?

Yes. A parent is required to stay overnight with their child, and our family room lets you sleep in the same room if you prefer.

Do you offer at-home sleep testing?

Yes, for qualifying patients. You pick up the portable equipment at our Sleep Center and complete the study at home.

What happens during an overnight sleep study?

A technician places small sensors on your scalp, face, chest, and legs, plus a sensor on your finger, and two stretchy belts around your chest and belly. The wires are thin and bundled so you can move, and you can disconnect them if you need the restroom.

What if I show signs of sleep apnea during my study?

You may have a split-night study. The technician records your sleep for the first half of the night, then fits a CPAP mask and adjusts the airflow to find the right setting for you.
