Sarah Peterson, MD

Dr. Peterson earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology from the University of Georgia, followed by her Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. She completed her Family Medicine residency in Seneca, South Carolina and is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

At the heart of Dr. Peterson’s practice is a belief that every patient deserves the best care. She is passionate about tailoring each visit to address individual concerns and delivering patient education that is relevant, practical, and truly useful.  She is also guided by a piece of advice from her residency director that has stayed with her throughout her career: that medicine is always evolving, and the best physicians evolve with it.

Dr. Peterson understands that the desire to be healthier is rarely just about health, it’s about the people we want to be healthier for. That perspective shapes how she approaches lifestyle changes and long-term wellness goals, setting incremental targets and celebrating achievements alongside her patients, knowing that the positive impact of those conversations can ripple through generations of a family.

Outside of the office, Dr. Peterson is a devoted family person who loves traveling to Disney World. She also bleeds red and black on game days. Go Dawgs!
