Rebecca enjoys hearing about her patient's life and aspirations and it means a lot when she can help someone make their life better.
Rebecca Ramsey, FNP-C became interested in Genetics while attending Furman University, assisting her molecular genetics professor in E. coli recombinant DNA. After graduation, her experience at Greenwood Genetics Center involved analyzing peripheral blood, bone marrow, and amniotic fluid to find common genetic disorders such as Prader-Willi Syndrome. From there, she worked at Emory University in the Genetics department, specializing in the genetic footprint of pediatric tumors and leukemias.
Her love of nursing began when the Georgia Hospital Association asked her to lead a unique web-based project involving Georgia’s hospitals. Six years later, she completed the project and returned to Kennesaw State University to obtain her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and become a Registered Nurse. Her nursing experience included emergency medicine, vascular surgery, and home health. She then became a legal nurse consultant and worked with a local law firm on product liability cases involving dialysis solutes and bladder slings.
These experiences prompted Rebecca to obtain higher education at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she received her Master of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice. After becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner, Rebecca Ramsey, FNP-C gained experience during the COVID-19 pandemic, overseeing several COVID-19 testing sites across Georgia and gaining insight into telehealth medicine and urgent and primary care medicine. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and continues her commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered medical care. She enjoys participating in the Daughters of the American Revolution organization (DAR). She resides in northwest Georgia and has two adorable cockatiel parrots, Oliver Boo and Pearly Grace.
