Marilyn Jones, MD

Marilyn Jones, MD is a compassionate family medicine physician committed to helping patients of all ages maintain health, prevent disease, and live life to the fullest. She earned her undergraduate degree in Anthropology from Stanford University before pursuing her Doctorate in Medicine at the University of California – San Francisco. Dr. Jones is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Dr. Jones was drawn to medicine by a love for the science behind it and for the people it serves. She is passionate about translating complex medical knowledge into clear, actionable steps patients can take to meaningfully improve their health. For Dr. Jones, the best healthcare begins with listening. Listening well enables understanding of patients’ concerns, values and goals, so that care provided is uniquely appropriate for each individual.

At the heart of her practice is a belief in treating the whole person: body, mind, and spirit. She believes that effective healthcare requires caring for all three. She is also passionate about “root-cause” medicine, which helps patients make fundamental lifestyle changes that go beyond taking medications. This includes eating well, treating “food as medicine,” prioritizing quality sleep, staying active, managing stress, and reducing exposure to environmental toxins. In her view, optimizing these essentials should be the treatment foundation for all chronic ailments.

When she is not caring for patients, Dr. Jones enjoys reading, dancing, traveling, and serving in children’s ministry. She treasures time with her husband and two teenagers, and though she was born and raised in San Francisco, she has fully embraced the heat and charm of Atlanta, her new home.
