Arika Shaikh, MD

Dr. Shaikh earned her Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology from Augusta University, followed by her Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. She completed her Family Medicine residency at Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center and is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Growing up in an immigrant family with frequent trips abroad gave her early, firsthand insight into healthcare disparities around the world, and a deep appreciation for what truly accessible care can mean in someone’s life. Those experiences, combined with work serving underserved populations through non-profit clinics and Grady Hospital, laid the foundation for the physician she is today.

Dr. Shaikh’s approach to family medicine is rooted in treating the whole person, not just an isolated symptom. She is passionate about preventive care, healthy lifestyle management, and building the kind of long-term, multi-generational relationships that strengthen not just individual health but entire communities. She believes deeply in continuity of care, the idea that a provider who truly knows you is better equipped to guide you through every stage of life. In her own words, she aims to care for every patient the way she would care for her own family.

Fluent in English, Urdu, and Hindi, she brings cultural sensitivity and linguistic range to her practice, allowing her to connect authentically with patients from diverse backgrounds.

Outside of the office, Dr. Shaikh enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants and cafes, experimenting with new recipes, and catching up on movies and TV shows with family and friends. A self-described pizza lover, she has suspects she could eat pizza every day and never tire of it.
