The Aylo Health Holiday Toy Drive

Getting and staying healthy is more than just eliminating disease. It’s much bigger than that. For example, research has proven that happiness, generosity, and health are tightly connected. Higher levels of self-reported happiness are tied to healthier hearts, stronger immune systems, and longer lives. And generosity (giving to others) has been linked to a host of health outcomes and a higher quality of life.

It’s not surprising then, that the Holiday Season just seems to make us feel….better. Particularly when we take the time and effort to give to others.

This is one of the many reasons we’re holding our Holiday Toy Drive again this year. We’re collecting toys from our patients, staff, and other members of the community– then distributing them to local, deserving families. You can make your toy donation(s) at any of our nine convenient locations across Henry, Butts, and Rockdale counties. We’ve received more than 1,200 toys as part of the drive over the past few years, and we’re looking to make 2017 our strongest yet.

And we believe linking the Toy Drive with preventative imaging makes sense. It’s a great way to encourage a simple but potentially life-saving test while investing in our community.

Now through December 19th, anyone who donates a new, unwrapped toy valued at $20 or more will receive a coupon for a free 3D Mammogram upgrade, which detects cancers at a rate 41 percent higher than 2D Mammography and reduces false-positive results by 40 percent.

With age- and risk-appropriate screening mammograms now covered by most insurance providers at no cost to the patient, an upgrade to a 3D screening typically costs $60. With the toy drive coupon, that fee will be waived. The coupon is transferrable to a friend or family member, so everyone is encouraged to donate, even if you do not need a mammogram.
