Menopause is a natural decline in reproductive hormones when a woman reaches her 40’s or 50’s.
Menopause is the natural, reproductive decline that takes place during a woman’s 40’s or 50’s. Menstruation is no longer regular, and the ovaries produce shallow levels of estrogen and progesterone. Low levels can increase health problems. Menopause can also take place in women who have had a hysterectomy (removal of the uterus), or who have undergone chemotherapy/radiation therapy, and primary ovarian insufficiency.
Though this may seem like a “break” from the usual route, complications may include heart disease, stroke, osteoporosis, urinary incontinence, oral issues, sexual function, weight gain, and lead poisoning.
Since this is a natural occurrence, treatments at Aylo Health primarily revolve around relieving symptoms, as well as preventing or regulating chronic conditions that may occur due to aging. Estrogen therapy (hormone therapy), vaginal estrogen, low-dose antidepressants, or an osteoporosis preventative are available to patients as well.
